State of the Jou, stats & permissions
Jul. 16th, 2020 10:20 pmAge: 45
Height: I'm... actually not sure, average for a guy.
Weight: Thin but athletic.
Medical Info: Healthy.
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Physical traits: Very energetic, bouncy.
What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: Absolutely anything. No idea he's on a TV show but he'll be fascinated by it along with a bit thrown.
Abilities: Scientist, has canonical experience with deciphering alien tech. Excellent fighter, can transform into Yellow Lion, which gives him a yellow/white suit and some extra capability and weaponry.
Notes for the Psychics/Magically or Spiritually sensitive: Has ISSUES though they're buried reasonably deeply and he's mostly coping with them; see below.
Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: Taaaalk to me first please (pm or classylassy at gmail!) for any changes to him, spitting/stepping are fine without talking to me but he will react as appropriate.
Hugging/kissing/other non-violent physical contact: Definitely, he likes people and while he'll be o.O about kissing, he likes hugs and casual touches.
Maim/Murder/Death: Almost definitely but please talk to me first!
Cooking: Can manage edible food but he's not good. Not at all.
Where he's at mentally/emotionally/etc: Liveman aired in 1988, Gokaiger in 2011, so obviously there's a helluva lot of time in between those two things.
He's a science student in Liveman, he's a scientist in Gokaiger.
He's been betrayed by friends (who hurt other friends) in Liveman, he's watching other students in Gokaiger to try to stop anyone else going down that path.
He loves people and will help anyone in Liveman, he loves people and will help anyone in Gokaiger.
Jou's something of a young idiot at times in Liveman, headstrong, easily provoked, and he's matured a bit in Gokaiger. Still has just as much energy and fire, but he's got more self-control. He's older; it's a logical progression, it's not unreasonable that he'd be as he is in Gokaiger. His personality hasn't changed much, he's just a bit more self-controlled.
Soooo I've done very little headcanoning to string that time together. If anyone else ever apps Liveman here from post series, we can work out their shared history (and please please please app Liveman IT'S FUN!). My main points are that he's a scientist, he's working at the school where he studied, he helps people, he doesn't want anyone to go through what his friends went through. My *details* for him come from Liveman itself. I'm not relying on a lot of headcanon.
And that brings me to his issues. He's obviously dealing pretty well. He's a happy, cheerful person who wanted to help Joe and Ahim before he knew anything about Barizorg. He's not sitting up on rooftops in a bat costume, obsessing; he has a life and he lives it. But he's damn well not going to let it happen again if he can help it. He's not going to let anyone else fall to evil if he can help it.
He's coping, and he's happy! But that underlies a lot of what he does. He wants to befriend people because he likes people, but also because he doesn't want that to happen again. Never again.
